Default First Ride, New Sound?! Kodiak 450

Hi Gang...
First ride today on new toy, and at one point, (when in 4 wheel drive) an electric sound started.. Sounded kinda like the front axle shift motor but continuous. I shut the machine off with the key, and when I restarted it, the sound went away.. Then a bit later, it came back again....Could it be the fan motor just making noise? The second time I noticed it, I had just stopped after a bit of hard riding and noticed it, but then about the time I was going to get off the bike to investigate, it stopped. The guy with me on his 400 Kodiak heard it too, but had no idea what it was... Any suggestions? Kinda smelled a burnt smell the first time, but figured it was just the first time the engine was hot.. and the smell went away and I didn't notice it again.
Other than that, it pulled like crazy and when I thought it couldn't get any better, locked in the front axle and holy smoke! Climbed a muddy hill like no tomorrow!! .. Was pretty incredible!

errr, Electric fuel gauge? I just have the gauge mounted on the tank... Not part of the electric gauge package that Im aware of..Just spedometer, main odometer, two trip odometers, hourometer, clock....

Have no idea why yours wouldn't be working...

OOPS,
I did forget to thank you GrizzlyKing for the reply.. Hope that it is all it is... Was worried that it was the front diff lock motor going haywire!!
Let me know what you find out about the fuel gauge though.... Im curious!

Thanks!

The Kodiak 450 only has the mechanical gauge on the tank. It is not wired for the digital gauge.

Yeah I know what you guys mean. But the digital display was taken right of the grizzly 660 and the grizz has the electronic fuel gage in the bottom right corner. if you look at your 450 just right, you will see the same sort of bars in the same area but they dont light up as black bars. I think it is was one of those ooops tht yammaha did when they put the 660 grizz digital display onto the 450 Kodiak. If you guys figure out how to get the electronic gage to light up on the 450 let me know. you would probably need to get parts for a grizz for it to work.

Get out there and ride!
