Just follow how the manual tells you how to break it in. Make sure you do your 10 hour service. It is a critical step in a bikes life.

Just be easy on it.....no high speeds no sudden revs...dont hit the limiter....for about 3 tanks of gas...then you can go vrrrrroooooommmmm vrooooooommmmmmmm vroom pop vroom pop vroom pop vroom....just dont tach out the limiter....you lose power severly

Ride it normally, BUT it is good to put the engine "through its passes", meaning its ok (and good for the enngine) to get it hell!!! I dont mean to hold it at 8000 rpms for a along time, but rather run through the gears at full throttle but DO NOT maintian top RPMS for more than a few seconds(in your break in period).

After you first maintanance check(10hr, oil change) then repeat the proccess for the next 10 hrs.(Just my opinion) after that your HOME FREE!

ride like you live....HARD!

Is the 10hr thing really that important?? I have had mine for over a year now, and never did the 10hr service. It runs better than any other DS I've come across(with comparable mods).

Better at LEAST check your valve clearances and change your oil/filter.

That's called "minimum maintenance".

You never did the 10hr service?! Are you nuts!? I hope you at least changed the oil and filter? If you haven't you better hurry up! Wait until you see how much metal is in there! You will think your motor had exploded inside their is so much junk.

How hard is it to check your valve clearance?
