Rancher or Big Bear ...HELP
#1
I think I have narrowed my purchase down to these 2 machines. I was trying to keep to a $4,000 budget.I`ve already looked at both quads and I can get the BB for $4200 OTD in NJ ( excluding tax since I`m from NY ) Today was the first time I had the chance to see the Ranchers and the looked like the quality was superior to the Yamahas`. Can you guys recommend one over the other and give me an idea what kind of deals you got from Honda dealers. The MSRP is about identicle on these 2.. Thanks I appreciate the help.

Well the choice should depend on what kind of riding you are going to do, we own a 2000 big bear and a 2001 Rancher 4x4 ES ,it is a very good trail quad mainly because it's much lighter and has more ground clearance. The ES(electric shift) is awesome, the electronic dash is neat, tells what gear etc,but if you are going to do some heavy utility type work, some trail riding and want a quad that can do almost anything the dual range big bear is hard to beat and except for some annoying tappet noise it has been a great machine and I'm sure it will be for many more years.the Honda is my wife's and for a beginner it has proven to be forgiving at times when she got in a little trouble, hope this helps.
