Question on tires
#1
Yeah i am thinking about getting Kenda Bear Claws for the 01 250 4x4, my original tires were the titans (front - 23x8-12) (rear - 24x9-12) and i want to get bear claws (front - 25x8-12) (rear - 26x9-12) am am going to use the original rims, so will this work?? do you think there will be any rubbing?? thanks

i would try 25X8 in front and 26X10 in back or if not that big try 24X8 in front and 25X10 in back
with low gear it shouldnt be any problem
the clearance should be there casue it is just like the 300's

They will fit on your rims just fine, and won't rub either. It will sap away some power, but Bear Claws aren't that heavy, and as long as you stay away from a 12" wide rear tire, the weight won't be a massive gain.

I love my Bear Claws, but they are right, 2 inches on the 250 was to much. I tried them and inthe thick stuff it would actually kill it. I dropped to 25-10-12 on the back, and that is pretty well perfect. The 26's kill the bottom end, but the 25's seem good.

I am considering putting wider tires on my 250 4x4.I thought I would put the rear tires(24 9x12) on front and put new tires on front rims that are 25 tall and wider than 9 inches. How wide of tires can I put on the stock rims?

well im not going to be too worried about power, its got low and superlow range, if i put those tires on it, how much more speed do u think i would gain, im just wondering

Agreed, I think you may actually loose a little bit of top end speed due to the small engine.
I would lean toward similar height tires with a wide one in the back. From my experience that seems to work better on the smaller wheelers. Maybe 24X8X12 front and 25X12X12 rears. The wide ones will keep you pulling through and on top while the skinny front will reduce the load on the engine and steer easier. I know from experience the wide one in the rear helps in hill climbing.
Just my opinion, everyones got one.
