Default first time atv buyer....help!

Hi gang. I plan on buying my first atv this fall. Thinking about holding out for the new Honda 400 with auto trans. Any thoughts both pro and con about Honda?

hmm, the Honda's are usually pretty nice Quads. i personally dont like them and will never buy one my self, but i wont say anything bad just because i have a grudge. They are good quads with good engines and Hold up pretty well. Which 4X4 Auto where you looking at?, because the Brand new "Rancher 400 4x4" is pretty awesome.

My neighbor has one of the first 2000 Ranchers. 2x4 model. Its been a good quad for him.
The 3 honda's I have right now have been trouble free.

I don't know anything about the Hondamatic transmission though. I would prefer the 5 speed auto clutch 350 model myself if I was to purchase a rancher.

The rancherAT will probably be a big seller for honda.A real automatic transmission(no belts)and honda reliability will make for a great quad.

I am a new owner of a 2003 Honda 350 4x4 Rancher Es. I love it. I had it since feb.25,2003. I have not
had any problems with mine. I have 16.5 hours on it, and 100 miles. I love it. I been in some mud when
I first got it,but now I can care less about the mud. I just like to ride. If I have to go in it then I will. Well
later

I am also considering the 2004 Rancher 400. I like the looks of it better than the Rincon. It has the push bar around the lights where the Rincon does not. The price will probably decide it for me. I wish Honda would use disc brakes more. I'd rather work on disc brakes rather than drum because it's so much easier. There are alot of other 400 quads out. I've always had good experiences with Honda so they'll be my first choice. It is hard to say too much about it because it's not out yet. Soon.

yah, I'm looking at the 2004 rancher at. I talked to a dealer he said they will be in around May or June at about $5500 to $5800. Will be able to switch in and out of 4wd AND in/out of auto trans to electric trans.(just like a larger model Honda..don't remember model name)
This is the on I think I'm gonna hold out for, I was just wanting opinions on Honda before I spent $.

..Test drive as many many atv's as you can..I bought a 03 prairie 360 and found it too under powered for our use..expensive mastake...traded it in with 200 miles on....I will never recommend any atv under 500cc with automatic belt drive...perhaps the 360 with a 5 spd would have been ok...bought the 500cc vinson 5 spd and just love it...

Hmm, im sure the wait will be worth it, it not only looks cool, but it has some cool features too, and that price the dealer gave you sounds Reasonable. you would probably be happy with it. it would make an awesome First ATV after you get used to it and start taking on some 4x4 challenges that the earth likes to throw at us.
