85 HP from Team Pami in Germany?
#1
Info@team-pami.de claims up to 85 HP for BMW F650 motorcycle with componets compatible with DS650. 725cc Big Bore kit, +2mm stroker, valves, guides, cam, larger oil pump, crank and fly wheel lightening, carb and clutch kit.
Don't know if this is good or not. Saw it in 4WheelATV for June 2000.

I saw the article and it said the parts used on the BMW were able to be used on the DS650 engine. I thought since eveyone wanted to improve performace, it may be another source of parts for that. If the parts are not compatable, I am not sure why 4WheelATV would print that. I can scan the small article if it would make more sense. I have never seen a DS650, except in magazines, and just got that June edition and they made it sound like a good thing.

Actualy, the DS650 Uses virtually the exact same engine as the BMW F650. Thats where the comparisons come in. I think some of the other guys in here can go alot more into detail, but I heard the differences are: heavier duty clutch, different gear ratios, counterbalancer, and a little more HP stock if i recall correctly. (It does have to move alot more weight and a pair of wheels instead of just one...)

Also, the F650 Fundero (Funduro?), whatever they call it, has five valve and dual carbs. That bike does 119mph in a quarter of a mile drag! It beats out 1100-1500cc cruisers and keeps up with some of the midrange sport bikes.
I tend to think along the lines of the other posters out here, that Bombardier really tried to keep the power to an manageable level for liability sake. In combination with all of the heavy duty components, like the axle, hubs, frame, a-arms, trailing arm, etc., this bike should last for a very long time. It's the new 350X, wich is the top dog among the four stroke ATC's.
