ok, so I pull off my airfilter lid to give it some extra hp, right?? Hah.. didnt realize the filter was held in by the lid, finished riding.. and filter was flopping around.. i dont think it was like that too long though, anyways, now i put on a k&n, screwed 'er on top.... and holds good.. so, anyways, make sure ur airfilter is secured if you take your lid off.. Get a Pro-Flow K&N kit, comes with an adaptor so you don't need your lid and you get alot more airflow with the bigger filter.

I did something like that when I got mine. I just slammed the lid on after inspecting it and took off. The following weekend, checked the filter and it was off and very, very dirty.

Hack the crap out of your stock lid leaving only the surface for the clips and the front portion that holds the a/f.
Now thats cheap HP

raptorjay is dead on! I believe new lids are only $12.. cut the back end off and keep it for the really wet days

I coped down the side so the front half was held on with 4 clips, and the back by only 2. Kinda like a horse shoe shape. Then jetted to 160-165... I also lowered the clip one, but will go back up now that its warmer.
