Default How much tire will fit under a Grizzly?

Now that i have a sport quad, and don't need to abuse the Grizzly for what it was not intended, I would like to put some oversize mud tires on my 660 Grizzly. What is the best size to go with, without having suspension problems or CV problems? Also, for those of you that have oversize tires, did you need any clutch mods to pull the big tires?

Does anyone have the 27" mud lites on a Grizzly, and would you recommend them?

plumrman, I just put new 589's on my grizz...........26-9-12 up front and 26-12-12 in the rear with no other mods. No problems with them rubbing or anything......still plenty of clearance. did give me a little more stability and oh how they like to go through mud! did notice a little loss of acceleration, but if you're after flat out speed then you shouln't be buying a utility quad anyhow, right? I've heard of people putting 27" tires on the grizz without a lift, but I think that the grizz is tall and top heavy enough as it is and let's face it the bigger the tire the more power is lost, and the more chances of breaking something. I can tell you this, I had mine out yesterday mudding, and those 26" 589's pulled me through stuff I would have never dreamed of getting through with the stock 25" tires. My personal opinion is that the 26" tires are plenty. I see no need to go with anything bigger unless all you're doing is mudbog competitions

I have 27" Bi/Tri Claws. They fit fine. The rears will rub a little on the black lower fender things, but not too much, and its the only place they ever come close to hitting. I trimmed a half inch off of mine. 27" is about all I would go with, but they fit good enough. 28 might be pushing it.

I JUST PUT A NEW SET OF GOODYEAR TRACKER MUD RUNNERS http://www.treadepot.com/td.c/orders/index.html
I KEPT THE SAME SIDE AS ORIGINAL, BUT THESE TIRES ARE TALLER AND WIDER, AND MEAN LOOKING. ALSO I DIDN'T LOOSE POWER LIKE WHEN YOU GO BIGGER. THE ONLY DOWN SIDE IS THAT YOUR YARD WILL NEVER LOOK THE SAME. THEY ARE GREAT ON ROCKS, MUD AND EVEN CARS. I'LL LET YOU THINK ABOUT THAT.
