Northern Minnesota this Weekend
#1
A few friends and I are planning to ride in the Brainerd, MN area. Anyone have recommendations on where we can ride. We have utility ATV's and prefer hills and obsticles.
Thanks in advance.

Hey rls, Have you desided on where you going to ride this weekend? I have a cabin near the Crosby pits. My wife and I love to go riding. I know the trail pretty good so no would get lost. Maybe I could meet you some where in town.

I ride behind the brainerd airport alot. It is alot of old logging roads, with trails branching off all over, there are a couple fairly big sand hills, and a sand pit at the end off one of the trails, lots of mud puddles, see lots off 4x4s covered in mud back there, I ride a sport quad so I kind of steer clear of the muddy trails so I dont know how bad they get. Anyway it is on the way to Crosby from Brainerd, hang the first left when you turn at the airport and all the way at the end of the dirt road is a place to park. Maybe someone with a 4x4 that has been back there, can tell ya more. If I can get a spark on my quad, I will be out there this weekend.

Im pretty sure that there are trails in the ditchs that go all the way there, I know we have ended up at the hwy, about halfway in between the airport and riverton and took the ditches back to the airport. Or if you make it to the anderson bros pits there is a road at the back left side of the pit that will take you to the airport also.

went to the airport today, it sucked, they are clear cutting back there. The trails are all torn up, and logs stacked everyware, almost got taken out by a semi on one corner.

Have you tried Gilbert MN the place is a blast. May 1st they open for 7 days a week until than it is F/S/S. I would say one of the best places in the state. It is a long drive but worth it.

Hey 86, I did'nt make it up north this weekend. It's to bad the loggers made a mess out the trails. I will be coming up north next weekend. I will try to find these trails behind the airport.
