You will do better by a manual if you want to play in the water. No matter how much people like to talk up automatics as not having problems in water, at least with a manual shift you know for sure that there is nothing in question.

I have to agree with Andy, my 300 Manual will go through deeper water than my 500 auto. with a little bit of hose rerouting the manuals can go deeper. the air intakes are the same for both the auto and manual. the auto weakness is in the trany vents. on the front of the trany it has 2 vents one is really high but the other is lower down. the third is on the back part of the trany it is a little hose about 2" in diameter that is in a u shape and it is lower than the front vent.

You have to worry about your airbox intake with a manual. With the auto, you have the airbox plus the transmission intake (plus any possible leaks) to worry about. I have an auto, but not because I wanted it. If they made the 660 Grizzly in a manual shift, I would trade in next week no matter if I lost my butt or not in the trade. If you are thinking AC, I say 500i manual all the way. My brother in law has one, and its a very good bike.
