Best Way To Change Rubber

Default Best Way To Change Rubber

Which is the best way to take the rubber off a rim and put new rubber on.(Big screwdriver pry bar etc.) I have never done this before as this is my first ATV so any tips would be gretly appreciated.Cheers [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif[/img][img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

I have never had ANY luck trying to change tires myself. I am sure there is a way but I don't know it.

Default Best Way To Change Rubber

You MUST have a beadbreaker as seen in the ATV mags. If you weigh less than about 180lbs, you might need help breaking the bead. Work your way around the rim slowly. You won't even think your making progress for the first pass around the rim.

Fronts are easier to change than rears.

If your tires are destroyed, you can cut them off and get new rubber on with just a set of tire spoons.

So it's good to say to just bring them to a shop.I wanna keep the stocks,thinking of studding them.

Ok make sure all air is out. Lay the assembly down on the ground preferably hard ground. Get in your truck (a car will work too). Drive over the tire as close to the rim as you can. I use the front of the truck as it is heavier, sometimes the back will not do it. I learned this in the army and after fighting with my tires tried and it works great. It does not damage the tire at all. I kept my take offs to put back on when I traded mine in.
