Raptor shifter with MX boots
#1
Hey Guys, what kind of shifter should I get since the stock one is too low for me to get the stiff MX boot under it. It seems like the only way to shift is to use the lip of the boot and that isn't very consistent. Thanks guys.

I put an IMS direct link shifter on mine, rode it twice, and took it back off. I put the stock shifter back on and adjusted it up on the splines. The IMS shifter is to short. Very happy with stock shifter now.

I had the same problem on my raptor and adjusted the shifter up but it wasnt enough, so i bought the IMS direct link shifter and at first it feels weird but after about a day you get used to it, and now i like it. It is also the same length as the stock shifter.

I have the Pro Design direct shifter and I think any direct shifter is better than having the stock linkage to deal with. Much easier to shift all around...

I also bought the IMS unit and took it right back off. Played with the stock one and got it set great for my mx boots. If you do buy a new one, spend the extra on a pro design or one of the other good ones and stay away from the cheap ones like IMS, it was way to flimsy.

I have the IMS and had to grind a little of my sprocket cover away to get it mounted high enough to clear my boots. No problems with it and it's just as sturdy as any motorcycle shifter I've ever used.
