Where is the oil filter located on a 99 yamaha 5spd kodiak?

I am a honda man myself but my uncle had been wanting a fourwheller for a while now, and lucked up and bought a 99 kodiak 4x4 a few days ago for $1,000 if you can believe that. It needed some work done to it, and a new battery, but we got it going and it runs really good(i was impressed with the acceleration, and it doesent smoke any either), but we were wondering where the oil filter is on it so that he can change it sometime. We heard it was behind the engine cover, but we havent looked yet so were not for sure.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks.
