What mods to start with on my new 03 Prairie 650?
#1
I'm thinking I need a new air filter and Diamond G snorkel.
But what filter and WHERE can I order it online?
Next I was thinking about doing Nyroc's Exhaust Mod but then wouldn't I have to re-jet? If so to what?
Then I was thinking of putting in this Black Secondary Spring
http://www.erlandsonperformance.com/...ode=secsprikaw
Thoughts on what I should start with that WON'T void my warranty????
THNAKS!

I won't do that for a while. Way to much $$ to be spending after all its NEW!
I've been through plenty of mud, trails and pavement on the 80 miles I have on and so far I've had no problems with the tires.

The first thing you should do to your p650 is the black spring. Do it now, do not wait for your belt to slowly wear away! This is a $25 mod that will save you a whole lot more.
New tires is a must, I ebay-ed my stockers actually.
I really would also recommend upgrading the skid plates, I just installed the ricochet plate, and it's awesome. The stock plate crunched like tinfoil when I hit a few stumps/rocks.

What did you get on ebay? (I have a 70+ rating) On the tires your saying the stock are not good in the mud I assume? I will mud but trail ride much, much more.
I have the spring on the way but am a little "afraid" to do the job. Nyroc's site is the only reason I even ordered the thing. Have you done the black spring mod? Also I don't know about making the spring tool....can I buy one? Ouch I see EPI has one for $80!

I wasn't sure about the spring so my dealer installed it and set the belt deflection. Definitely get a tire with 6-ply protection, not the 2ply stockers. Everyone seems to puncture them.
I believe I sold my stock set for $100 or so, with 300 miles on them. The holeshot atr's were a night and day difference for trail riding. Dont bother taking the stockers in deep mud.

pro circuit pipe, go threw www.westymotorsports.com over $100 off retail, jet kit go threw www.rockymountainatv.com 50% cheaper than any where else and for the spring compressor dont waist your money. if you have a buddy and you know someone that has an olympic weight set, use a 45lb weight, the hole in it is perfect. just put it over the top have a buddy push dowwn, take the retaining clip out, put in the new spring, push down againput the clip back in and thats that

I sprung for new tires after I almost got hurt(as in hit a tree) for the second time. Do the tires, Do the black spring. Then, when your wallet re-fills, do the Progressive frt. spring kit.
BTW-- Nyroc's "650 knowledge base" has a ton of tips, how-tos. He shows you how to make a simple, $5.00 clutch spring compressor.
