Best 350 pv motor? LRD, CT, ESR?
#1
Hey guys, whats up?? well.. after comming from the dunes (and needing a quad badly) i decided i'm going to buy a 88' 250r, but I'm a big guy and a stock motor wont do very good with me.. my neighbor has a niks 310 on pump gas and he's does pretty well but i need more power than that, I've heard the power valve engine is very smooth for trails, hills, etc.. and thats pretty much what i want. I've seen people with the ESR 370. Nice motor but how does it act? what about the LRD or CT 350 pv? I live pretty close to LRD so it wouldn't be a prob. to just drive there and deal with them in person about building a motor. So what does every one think?? btw i weigh 310 just for a power / weight ratio

I've heard many good things about ESR... Not so many good things about CT, and Can't say for LRD.
The only complaints I've heard of CT is their motors don't make as much power or have the potential for power as the others.
I too am looking, as I have the same need for more HP because of my size.... I believe when the time comes, I'll go to ESR, or do my own work.
Hope this helps.

I've had great luck with my CT PV. It's very reliable and gets me to the top of the hill fast enough
He is now selling the newer style PV (not the bellows type) and it is even smoother than the older one. I have not had much time on it but I think it lost a little bottom end and gained a nice anount of top with the new PV.

I have seen LRD take very good care of my friend's 330. When he had it at Glamis, the bottom-end went out, twisted the rod, all kinds of ugly stuff. Called LRD from the dunes, they just had him ship it back, they repaired it at no cost and sent it back. That's excellent customer service!

I've heard good things about the ESR so i would probably go with that, Could i run pump gas? what octane, I'm not very interested in using alky cause i've heard some things about it, plus $$$ doesn't want it THAT bad. I was also wondering if any one has any reccomendations for a frame? link or no-link sus? thnx a lot.

I think I'd choose LRD in your situation. ESR is very good. Seems like ESR is more into sand then anything where LRD is into both.. Maybe I'm wrong.. Just a thought. Good luck.

Well right now i'm not doing jumping, but I probably will be seems as i like jumping razor backs and etc, so im guessing link suspension would be the way to go then?
elsancho,
How do you like your CT 350 kit? is it a good sand duning bike/ woods motor?
To any one else, It would be cool if i could get some more info about the LRD kit as they are near me (about 30 min) They do have a 370 pv kit also (ported 350) but so far im leaning towards the ESR 370 kit (nice and shiny with good remarks) =]
