Interesting experience at the tire store
#1
My new ATRs needed balancing so I called a bunch of tire stores asking about getting this done, most laughed a few were rude and every one of them said that the wheels would not fit on the balancing machine. No one had a bubble balancer either. Just for the heck of it I loaded the tires up and took em to the one store I didn't call. They told me the same thing. I asked specifically why they wouldn't fit and waas told that the hole was too big. I know better because I compared them to my 8 lug 3/4 ton truck rims and the hole is smaller on the quad wheels. After hearing this they agreed to try. Sure enough they fit fine on a Coats balancer and it even has settings for twelve inch wheel. BTW it took five ounces of weight to balance one of them. Standard wheel weights will also attach to these rims. Whether they will stay on or not remains to be seen.
On edit:
25 mile ride today over some rough terrain at speed and no weights lost. Balancing the tires helped but it didn't get rid of the high speed wander that these ATRs seem to have. Still need to check toe in.
