exhaust plug removal
#1
I have a 2001 500ac that I have tried several times to remove the exhaust plug from to blow out the carbon but so far have not had success getting it out. I would like to hear how to remove it from someone who might have gotten theirs out. I do not care if I need to get a new plug, I just want to clean out the carbon. Is the plug brass, is it a hollow core, or is it solid? Does anyone know the plug size and thread size, so I can have a replacement on hand? Thanks for any advice.

Yeah...they aren't easy to remove!!! I added heat and used an easy out bit...or use a VISE grip.
Don't get another brass plug....just take the old one to the hardware store and size it up with a new plug...much cheaper!!!!

I took both of mine out when the machines were still pretty new after i heated one out for neighbor, both of mine were'nt to bad, but now they are both brass valves so the water drains easily, i had the valves but, i wouldnt put a steel plug back in without anti-seize or something.
