Hehe yea, the posts were removed. So our posts look kinda stupid now :]

 

You might suggest to your father-in-law to do a valve clearance adjustment. I have a 1999 Arctic Cat 300 4x4 that just did that to and it is amazing how well it starts and runs now. I do not have the procedure but I hear that it is a very easy thing to do and works well if it does need to be done.
