Default new 03 500i auto

finally got my new cat. totalled the 02 500 manual ACT back in april. i never cared much for auto quads but yet i never owned one. don't knock'em unless you've tried'em, right? the dealer had both models there to try. after a test ride in the parking lot i was impressed with both but decided on the auto this time. i mostly trail ride so it wouldn't matter either way. i did notice the difference between the 02 manual and the 03 manual, wow. i got one fresh outta the crate. i watched the "PREPPING STAGE". you know the one most dealers charge a couple hundred bucks for. 20 minutes, to get the crate, open it, hook up battery, and gas it up. that's it! so if a dealer wants to charge for prep, tell him he's nuts.
once i got home i rode around hitting every bump i could find. i thought ACT was a good setup, and it is don't get me wrong but it's know irs. the auto has plenty of grunt. low range feels like a manual. the manual still has the edge for takeoff and overall torque though. once again, completely satisfied with the cat. paid $5845.00+tax. pretty good deal for around here. i enjoy reading the posts in this forum and trying some of the mods cause you guys really know what you talking about. happy trails to everyone.
