Default 2002 Arctic Cat 300 2x4 or 2002 Honda 350 2x4

I have been looking to buy a previously owned Honda Rancher 350 2x4. Now that I'm ready for the Honda, an aquantance is offering to sell me the Arctic Cat 300 he won in a St. Judes raffle. It's a 2002 model that has only been driven around a little in his yard. He want's $2500.00 for this machine. Would the previously owned Honda with low miles be better than a practically new Arctic Cat 300 at a low price? CajunJim

That is a pretty good price on the Cat.With just being ridden around the yard I would go with the Cat.It couldnt have been abused too much there. In my experience with Cats they seem to be just as reliable as any Honda. All I can say is ride both and see which one you like better.Good luck.

The Artic Cat is a good deal, but you didn't say what year the Honda is and How mutch or how many miles. If the every thing is close I'd go for the Honda.

Not exactly sure of the mileage on the Honda Rancher 350 2x4. Local dealer sells repos from Honda Finance auction out of Dallas Texas. All of his machines look great, but anything looks great after a half-gallon of Armor-All. Every Rancher of this size that he sales, goes for $3000 to $3200. The worse thing is just not knowing how well the person who lost it (defaulted on loan) took care of it, especially right before the Repo Man showed up. CajunJim

You said you know how the Arctic Cat was treated so to me this would be a very easy decision.I would get the AC.

One other thing, I went and checked out the CAT today. It looks like it came right off the showroom floor. The owner won it in one of those raffles raising money for St. Judes Cancer Hospital in Memphis Tn. He's an older gent who just took it home and ocassionally drove it around in his back yard. Said he did this about once a month. I'm leaning towards the CAT, but still somewhat undecided since most folks around here live and breath Honda.

IMO you would be crazy not to get the cat after you have descibed it.If I knew the guy selling it I would jump on it and run.It is a steal.

TO: vhcat400i. It is a great price on the AC. Since about a quarter of the guys I work with at our company are ATV addicts, it has been a challange to keep this deal undercover. Folks keep asking me who is selling this AC for such a low price, but I flat will not tell them as they may show up at his door with a few extra bucks. Right now the seller knows I want it for sure and it should be mine by the weekend. Just wanted to here some opinions from folks who have been doing ATV's longer than I. This is my first one.

I dont know if I would steal it out from under you if I was a co-worker but since I'm not don't give me their adress LOL.Just so you know I have had my AC for about 1 1/2 years and put over 2000 miles on my 400i and I have pushed it to the extreme limits with no problems.Choose wisely and just get the Cat.

go with the Arctic Cat! I ride the 400 a lot more than my sport quads around the country, lots of torture for the axles, suspenion, and everything on it, big bumps,, rough land, swamps, and the only problem I had so far wasmy friend hitting the exhaust pipe with his Polaris Magnum 325 and closed the opening, so i had to saw it off... but hey, still runs good after 926 miles of torture
