300 4x4 left rear outer boot is ripped. Has anyone replaced a boot before? ANy idea what a new boot costs?

Yes I done them before, The outer is $50 the inner is $40 .. You have to take the whole shaft out ... Bill

Yes I have done outer & inner on 00 300 4X4. They are very easy to do. Go to your local auto store with length, & dia's, in Can they are $40. but $8.95 at auto shop. I know mid 80's Civic fits front but can't help with rear.

 

how do you separate the half shafts from the cv joint? I've got it apart now and cant see how to get them separated...thnx...JC
