Hello people! I was just wondering when was the first year Arctic Cat came out with adjustable shocks on their 4x4 quads and if they would fit on my 97 bearcat 4x4?

Rooch, I guess that no one here knows about the shock retrofit, but I too have a 97 4x4 like yours and am interested to hear if they will work. My neighbor has a 2003 and the length looks to be longer than our shocks but dont know for sure.
Please let me know if you find out and I will do the same.

I wanted to try the same thing. Looking at the mounting brackets it appears the shocks will interchange, but my dealer said the overall length is different. The IRS shocks are longer to accomodate the 10" travel on the IRS machines. This will put a lot of strain on the rest of the suspension because the shock won't reach full extension and won't allow the machine to bottom out when needed. Just my .02

Where is Clifton Co? I have some land in Dolores area and plan to retire there with elk and deer hunting in mind.
How does the DOW feel about 4 wheelers for game retrieval ? Probably not as liberal as they are in the south??
