I have a new spare AC 500 2002 air filter. I own a 2003 500i the filter in the 500i is a little longer but it looks like the 2002 one would fit. Question can I use the 2002 air filter on the 500I any know problems.

 

I think it would be ok as long as it is attatched with a band clamp and not the wedge style filter.If it does anything it will be noticable at full throttle,IE. not getting enough air.But considering it came from another 500 it should be fine.

 

The filter for the 03 is larger than for the 02 to match the bigger carb in the 03.
