Aftermarket Exhaust for a 2003 400 auto
#3
Have you been able to find an aftermarket exhaust for the AC 400 yet?? I know that White Brothers makes a universal slip on, but not sure about the performance? Also - any ideas about an aftermarket clutch for an automatic transmission or a jet kit?

You'll get very little in the way of performance from an aftermarket exhaust. I modified a Supertrapp IDS2 that was on my 01 Kodiac 400 to fit on my AC 400i. No noticeable power gains....just louder. It was better in the deep water than the stock muffler. The stocker will kill the engine very easily if you're not hard on the throttle and the pipe gets submerged. The Supertrapp will allow the engine to idle when the muffler is underwater. I've since removed the Supertrapp (too noisy) and modified the stock muffler.
The best performance gains I got was by jetting down a couple of sizes and turning the fuel screw in a bit. Gets far better mileage and has respectable power for a 400 now.

Look, you guys.....I'm gonna try to save you some $$$$$. Afull aftermarket exhaust on a Raptor give you 6 to 8 hp.....on a Tractor engine like the 376 air cooled Suzuki egine, you may get 1 or 2 hp. DO NOT WASTE YOUR $$$$$
