i've got an AC 300 4x4, i put a set of 27 inch xt on it, and that baby will dance. lucky for me the only time i lock it in, is when she won't go any futher in 2wd. poit is, while at the dealer the other day, i noticed a new 300 4x4 and it had different size tires on the front. turns out, there is a slight ratio difference front to rear. the other dealer ether didn't know or didn't car. she only has 350 miles on her, maybe i have hurt anything.....who new

Since you only use 4wd when you can't get any farther in 2wd you have not damaged any thing. IF you start riding on hard pack and roads with it in 4wd you might increase wear.
I think you should keep it like it is and keep riding ho you currently do and you should have no problems.

I agree with Boner, I think he's right by saying that you should be OK riding around in 2WD most of the time, and kicking it into 4WD only when you need it. Since the tires will be slipping in 4WD, there should be no binding problems, and no extra wear. And like he already mentioned, I'd make sure not to use 4WD on hardpack or pavement.
Good luck!
