Yes! A max does have superior steering abilities when compared to a quad. It is also much more comfortable and can seat 2-4 passengers depending on the model. You can also go through mud and water that no quad could possibly go through and it can climb over 2 ft. logs as well.

Where you expecting something like that? Just wait long enough and it will come.

A friend emailed a pic to me of an 8 x 8. Is that superior to a 6 x 6?? Oh no! Get the medication ready.

Boner- I have found the Automatic 500 to steer a lot better than the manual 500 AC. It doesn't push in turns as bad, and it has a much tighter turning radius as well, even in 4wd. It also steers a lot easier on hardpack. Wait, the one I'm thinking about is the Sportsman 500 automatic though. I doubt there is any big difference between the two AC's.

Are you thinking about trading in for an AC automatic? You seem to ask a ton of questions about it every day. Just wondering.

Well what they did to improve the steering on the 2000 models from the 99's is going from the 26" tires to the 25" tires for 2000 on the AC 500...

Artic Cat 500...steers great but would like to have some 27 inchers

The tires make a world of difference. My 99 500 and my uncle's 98 454 are identical as far as the framework, a-arms, tie rods, etc. go, but with the 25x10-12 titan 489's, his steers a lot better than mine does with the 26" 495's.
