The only other cat I have ridden is a 98 400
4wd. It required to much effort to steer this Cat. I rode the 2000 500's and noticed a big change. What did they do to correct this problem? I am trying to decide between the 500 Arctic Cats or the Polaris Sportman or Xpedition. Get ready to hear a lot of questions. Also are the wheels on the Cats interchangeable between the front and rear.

Thanks for the info
James

Did you ride an Automatic or a manual 500?

What are you looking for in a quad? This makes it alot easier to reccomend a quad for you.

Arctic Cat 500, I can handle the questions, Can you?

Rode both of them. Leaning toward the 5 speed. Is 5900.00 a good price with winch.
Our fire rescue department has a atv team. We
have 12 atv's so far, 10 Polaris, 1 Honda, and 1 Arctic Cat. All 4wd and most of them have winches. I will trail ride about once a month.

My dealer is selling them at $5700 with winch and gun rack.

Which one steered better?
I heard the Auto steered better thats why I ask.

What are you looking for in a quad?
What type of terain do you ride in?

I rode both for about 15 min. each. I could not tell any difference in the steering. I thought the auto would steer better because it can be taken out of 4wd.

Never owned a atv before. The two places to ride that are near where I live are Brown Mtn. and Tellico. Both can be very rough by listening to what people have said about them and the pictures that I have seen.

So its mountain riding?
If you don't know why not rent an Atv and find out?

I wouldn't mid trading it in on the auto or a 2000 model but I would hate to take such a lose in money for trading it in, I need to save for a truck.

Arctic Cat 500, YES!!!! I'm keeping it.
