new titan 589 tires
#2
In Atv Magazine they won the mud tires shootout. For pure muding they tied with the 27" Mud Bugs and they were only out done by the 27" Vamps, even though they are only 25 inchers. If they would make them in 27" sizes I would bye them but they don't.

They look good, but are way overpriced in the Arctic Cat accessory catalog. The 489 titans are $79.95 in the Catalog and Rocky Mountain ATV has them for like $43-$49 depending on the size. That is horrible. $30 a tire!

I have the 489 Titan tires on my new Artic Cat 500 auto 2000 model and all I can say is they are fantastic it has the 25x10-12 on the front and back I ride with 2 honda 300's and they couldn't believe it came with such nice tires from the factory. I have been in all kinds of terrain from mudholes to steep hills with rocks and have over 400 miles on my cat with no flats or any kind of tire trouble if you can get them for around 40 to 50 bucks piece I say go for it.

No joke Boner- did you not read anything here. The 589's are 89.95 in that catalog as well. If you can find them somewhere else, they are probably a lot cheaper. I'm saying that the 489's are $30 more from AC per tire than they are from Rocky Mnt. ATV. Rocky Mtn. doesn't show any price for a 589 so there wasn't anything to compare. Therefore, i used the 489 as a comparing point.
Atving's remark about the price was in response to my post about the 489 price, not the 589.
You just read a little more into these two posts than was actually there. I think the 589's look good, and are probably Titan's answer to a 25" mud tire which they really don't have unless you consider the 471's to be that (they look ok too). The 598 is just a wider spaced 489 with a bigger lug.
We all know the difference between the 489 and the 589 here. Atving was probably just complimenting the stock 489 titans. They are probably the best stock tires on any quad. I think they are better than the Good Years that polaris uses, and everyone elses stock tires really suck.

It has happen before were some people thought we were talking about 489s when we were in fact talking about 589s so I didn't want that to happen again.

Whats with the AC accessory guide prices anyway? I checked that Rocky Mountain price and it is $45 for the 25x10-12 titan 489s. Thats $35 difference per tire! How in the world do they expect to sell these, and at that price, why does AC bother? $79.95, good lord!

Just imagine what they would be if Rocky Mountain had them. I would guess about $55-$59 each. One thing learned. Never buy anything from the dealer or manufacturer if you can find a way around it.
