Default Help with AC 500i

I am going to buy a new AC 500i. Maybe a 650 but i dont want to pay $1000 more for a little more power and dif lock unless i have to. How good is the AC 500i? I have heard of broken axles but how common is it? I am not a big mud bogger. More of an extreme tech rider. I am thinking i want the full auto. Anyone have any belt or clutch issues? We have some pretty wooped out trails here so i need a quad that can pound wooped out trails good also. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

$1,000.00 is a small price to pay for the extra power and a locker, especially if you are comparing it to the automatic 500. You could spend $1000.00 on the 500 and not get the kind of power the 650 makes.

The axle issue is huge, but don't just take my word for it, call gorilla-axle and ask them. He is swamped with orders for AC axles. Call AC and the axles are on back order.

yup. if endless power and a locker are what your after go ahead with the 650. even as detuned as the 650 is, it still makes gobs of power, much more than the 500. with the bikes you have now (vforce) you must not have a problem with a automatic. the jury is still out on the 04 axles.

Default Help with AC 500i

Thanks for the help guys. This is pretty much what i was thinking but i am getting sick of waiting for a 650. Not alll dealers are getting a 650 so i may have to drive a couple of hours to find one. I guess since i will be doing mainly tech riding the locker would be good any ways. thanks again.
