once again a question about tires
#1
i know once again here goes another tire question. New to this forum just started messing around with wheelers. it is great to see all of these arctic cat fans. i live like 20 miles north of the main producation plant in theif river falls, MN. but then if i go 40 miles north there is the polaris plant in roseau, MN so it is all polaris fans up there. it is always a on goin struggle to show up those damn polaris's. well my question is i have a 99 400 4x4 and am goin to be stickin on some gators but i am not sure which size. i was thinkin 26x10x12 up front and 26x12x12 in rear or maybe even 27's. my question is will these tires fit, even the 27's without any mods? and how wide up front can i go before i have mod it. whould i be able to run 27x12x12 all around? another question what exactly are wheel spacers and how do they work? would you suggest them? any imput would be very appreciated

i dont know about your 400 but i have 28x10x12s on the front and 28x12x12s on the back of my cat.
but i think the 26" tires will fit .
and you wont be disapointed with them eather.
i love my gators.
but if i was to buy another set i might try the mud lites, they have a 1/4" deeper tread.
and they cost less.
and they look like they would be an awsome tire.

I would go with 26"s, should fit with no mods, power shouldn't be hurt to much. They should help you run down those willows and cat tails. I grew up by Roseau. The wheel spacers space the wheels out so the wider tire doesn't rub on anything, ussually used on the front. They're a "ring" of metal that bolts to your wheel studs and has new studs in it, just spaces the rim out 1 inch or however thick they are.

if your machine has the ACT rear suspension the bigger tires will rub on the coil springs when it gets twisted up.
I have the 25 mud lites on my 03 400 great tire, but if I was going to do it again I would choose the 26 inch 589's with a 1.5 inch spacer kit on the front and back of course.
