Is the AC 650 a bad machine? I have been to 2 dealers in my area trying to look at them. One dealer said I should look at the Traxter, the other tried to convince me to purchase the ATP. I would expect some steering by a dealer. But in both cases these people were not even dealers for the models they were trying to convince me to buy. One even gave directions to the closest dealer who handled tha model he was convinced I should buy. Really confused;

 

If you are saying that an AC dealer turned you away then I would have to say you are BULLS#@TTING!!!

Where are you from???? Do salesman make money there???? Something isn't adding up!!!!

You guys now see my confusion, why would anyone turn away business? I can not figure it out.

 

Awesome machine!!!! I went head to head with my buddies '03 Grizzley, and they are fairly close matched. Power wise, very similar. Ride wise, the AC650 has a little advantage. Handling the Grizzley wins (waaaaaayyyyy more nimble). I was running the recommended 5 PSI in the tires, and they would almost roll of the rims. With 8 PSI, it handles way better, but the steering isn't as precise and is heavier than the Grizzley. The extra ground clearance is nice too.

What I do like about the 650 is the v-twin. Quieter and smoother ride (that 660 in the Grizz gives more vibration).

I'm not biased to any machine, but I am super happy with the AC650. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

 

I'm even more confused over their recommendations. Not that the Traxxter and ATP are bad machines, but they are not in the same league as the 650. Grizz, SP700 would be closer.

 

That is what I though also. Going to visit a thrid AC dealer today. See what happens.

 

yeah, ok. that happens to me all the time i go to look at a new chevy truck and they send me to a ford dealership, then i go to the ford dealership and they say to go to the Dodge dealership. when i went to the arctic cat dealership, i had to beg them to sell me a quad they tried to convince me that a moped was ore what i was looking for. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA that is a good one Griz01!! i see that our nations anti drug campaign is getting nowhere! sounds like someone trying to start trouble. his next post will say "well i went to another dealership today and the same thing, i got sent away, turns out that the best machine out there according to Arctic Cat is the Yamaha Grizzly, so that is what i am going to buy" and then we will never hear from him again.

 

Sorry to disapoint, ruled out buying a Yamaha. Not because it is a bad machine, but the only dealer close by is not very reputable. Rode the 650 AC at the 3 dealer. I like it very much, ride is much better than anything else I was on. Still struggling, AC looks real good though.
