GPS or a calibrated radar gun, these are the accurate, and SAFE forms of determining speeds. The DVX is by far the nicest version of the 400. Arctic Cat should be very proud of a quad which is this sweet.
People, please stop being stupid and running cars against quads on the highway. Use your brain today, so you can still be around to ride tomorrow.

yea your right modquad it is stupid to run on the highway...but on a sucluded backroad the cheapest easiest way to find a speed is to run next to a vehicle with a speedometer...not everyone is gonna waste money on a radar gun when they are just curious to see how fast they can go....and corpsie i like the way you twisted what i said about not knowing much about engines to make me look stupid...your right i dont know much about cars, but i bet before you worked for the "auto industry" you would have assumed that a brand new vehicle's speedometer would be fairly accurate....and i know the vehicle i was running with was very close...my friend is very into his car and has the best of everything in it...all the guages in his car were calibrated by professionals...now somebody please argue with me and tell me i'm wrong cuz you people are really fun to laugh at

you do have a good point jens...yes it is hard for even me to belive that a stock dvx did 81....but i really didnt raise that many teeth...but i dont know how much a couple teeth would help....and i dont know what helps the top speed... i dont know if its just the sprocket that gives you the higher top speed, i really dont know so i cant say too much...and i'm not defending what syrupdawg said, but i'm not gonna call him a lier either cuz its possible

i'm not bashing but i do have a question....how much of a run did they have to get up to that speed...is that completely topped out, or like 1000 feet or something?.....lol i like the pinto comment, me and my other friend always call his car a pinto, weird coincidence....actually he has a dodge stealth though

Professionals working with the same junk speed ecoder will still get the same just junk results when the vehicle is at high speeds.
I'm not sure why you're laughing either.
