start below zero?

I hear there is trouble starting most quads in real cold weather. Is this true? My old quad was a polaris s 2 stroke and it started well. I'm not familiar with 4 strokes. I want to use it when it is cold (0 to 30 below zero f). Is this posible?

it is possible to start when it is cold out... I use to start my bomb up in cold weather all the time...we also start the magnum when it is cold out also...you could always just wait and get the 700 sportsman with efi

-15f is pretty good. EFI probably would be better in the cold. I've been waiting for 8 years and am loosing patience. I almost bought one today. It's alot of money for something I would'nt use too much. It's only money and you only live once. well thanks for the input .

Use 0-30 or 0-40 oil if you want to be able to start reliably at 0 F or colder and 75-90 synthetic gear oil in the diffs if it is cold throughout your ride. Once it gets down to -20 F my 500i complains a fair bit.

i live in North Pole, AK. it gets to be about 40-60 below up here in our winters pretty often. I rode at 35 below yesterday. LET THE QUAD WARM UP FIRST. full choke and it will start. but my z does good when it's cold. i've ridden at 42 below and i wouldn't go any colder because i had to turn the idle up a little in order for it to sit and warm up. plus when stuff gets to cold it makes it much easier to break.
o yeah, dress warm and have a cup of coffee waiting at home

How about a glue on heat pad. It works for cars. One problem is seals on shocks and driveline failing in extream temps. Make shure to use synthetics and a windshield / hand muffs and hot grips Don't forget to adjust air pressure the colder it is the more you need. ride on keep warm...

Most people have there bike in a garage where they can put heat on it. But if you had to trailer somewhere and spent the night and the bike sat out all nite would it start at 30 below? Probably not. Maybe it would start with synthetic oil and jumper cables and starting fluid. But I dont know. No body I talked to said they would go riding when it was that cold, but I would.
