Plastic or Metal Plow for My 250 2X4??
#1
I have read a post where a fellow thought the metal plow was too heavy for his 2X4? But it seems like heavier is better...up to a point, because a heavy plow will scrape the ground better???
What are all your thoughts, and experiences, please??
Thanks in advance,

I have a plastic 60" plow on my 250 4x4. I'll be using it for the first time this weekend with the noreaster that's hitting. But I've used it on gravel with no problem. According to Cycle Country, the 60" plastic weight about the same as the 48" metal.

I would go with metal if it was a 4x4 but seeing as it is a 2x4 I would stick with plastic, you could always get the manual lift and hold it down to scrape better. i have a metal plow and I notice that when I have my quad in 2 wheel drive that the weight of the plow actually lessens the traction of the rear wheels. Then the sand bags on the rear rack would fix that. It is up to you I guess?

I have owned both.I now use the 60 inch Cycle Country on my 4x4 Rincon for about a yr now and am very glad I made the change.I wont be going back to the smaller 48 inch steel again.

Now that we got hit with the nor-easter over the weekend, I'm SO glad that I got the 60" plow. As for weight, it weighs about the same as a 48" metal plow. It plowed like a champ! VERY rarely did it "ride up" on the snow.
