Dif** Lock on AC 650
#1
I was trying to climb a hill in snow about a foot deep, some ice also, and spun out using 4WD. Well, I just flipped the lock and it was like shifting into 4WD a second time, went over the hill, no problem. I am empressed!!!

On Sunday, I took my new 650LE out. I was with friends who were on snowmobiles. Of course, they went a lot faster because they could float on "top" of the snow (as opposed to my slogging through it). Regardless of the speed, my machine went everywhere they did...regardless of the terrain. At one point I was climbing a steep hill that was covered in 2-3 feet of snow, but couldn't the hill with any speed because of the depth of the snow. Instead, I flipped the diff switch and let the machine's torque take me up...it made it over the top without breaking a sweat!
This was my first ride (just picked up the machine on Saturday), and I too am impressed. The 650 can do it all: haul ***, climb, dig, whatever....and it does it all comfortably!

Seahunter;
As a caution & if you have not already done so, you may want to get your Dealer to check your Belt adjustment on your LE 650. The 1st time I took my LE 650 out, everything work great, no problems at all, except I wasn't happy with the soft sidewall Radial tires but that problem is no-more a concern.
The 2nd time I took my Cat 650 out & in about a foot of snow & on level terrain, my belt went into the safe-mode, top speed 8 mph, bummer - took me 40 minutes to drive 6 miles, thankfully the 4x4 still worked & I was able to get back to where the truck/trailer was parked.
From what I have seen on all of these forums, the LE's seem to be the worse for the belt being too loose, as my buddy's MRP 650 has had no belt problems.
