I rode with a guy at Fun Wheeler that works for Artic Cat. He says they are coming out with a new bike that has fully independant suspension from and back with 14" ground clearance stock from front to back. Has this guy been smoking pot or is there finanlly going to be some competion for my SP500.

There already is competition for your sp500, you just won't admit it. I think your in denial. The BOMBARDIER TRAXTER (BELIEVE IT ITS REAL).

Irichard,
I don't mean to put down your bike, but there is no comparison. Go ride a 2000SP500 on rough trails, then go try sum mud. You cannot beat the IRS on the SP500.

If price is the arguing point in this deal, then the traxter has no room to talk. Best deal I can go get right now on a SP500- $6300, best deal on a Traxter- $6850. Nuff said on price. The Traxter has a lot going for it, but also has shot itself in the foot on a few of its "Industry Firsts".

I believe you are a bit overconfident. I've had my AC500 for 2 years, and the three wheeling effect basically tells me that it will not outclimb a polaris. I'm sure you like your quad a lot, and don't want anything to be able to perform better, but maybe you should ride something else once or twice and get a little first hand look at the capabilities of different quads. You might winch yourself up some nasy hills, but the 2 fronts pulling on the sportsman will pass you by while you desperately spin out looking for traction.

Too bad everybody got to bashing here and got off the subject. I believe the question was something about the possibility of AC coming out with full independant suspension front and rear with 14" of ground clearance. Anyone know if this is true or not? If it is true, hopefully it will be a maintenance free suspension like we have now.

Andy, I don't mean to beat up Polaris but of the ATVs that went out with us to WV we had seven of them break down and two Sp 500s flip over. I just don't think they are as good as a AC on hills. The SP 500 to me has a very high center of gravity. They may have more power & speed and they may ride a little smoother but they are lite in the front end compared to the AC. I also like the fact that when I pull the lever on the fender I know I'm in 4wd for sure. To each his own. I have a lot of friends with Polaris Sportsmans. They have a lot of nice features. No ATV Is perfect for every type of terrain. Ride safe!!!

Good to see that gregsimms is over here now!!! He just seems to jump around forums stirring things up.
Don't know why he always has to challenge all other makes of ATV's. Come on dude--you made your choice. Live with it.
