Default different winch cable for lifting plow

Has anyone used a differnt cable on their winch for lifting a plow? I thought i heard there was a rope style cable for the warn winches. My metal cable seems to get bound up at times.

Default different winch cable for lifting plow

Go to Warn's website http://www.warn.com/atv/atv_new_products.shtml

The new style rope has been around for a while, just now being used by a major manufacturer. Looks promising though. However, be prepared for sticker shock. The synthetic rope is expensive.

Ride On.

Default different winch cable for lifting plow

I have used the cable on my winch for the past 3 winters, with getting the 650 and the new winch I did not want the cable to fray from using the plow. I went to the local Tractor Supply and purchased 10 feet of 3/8" poly twist rope and braided a loop in one end. I put the hook for the plow on in the loop and spooled the other end onto the winch spool and It works great. The best part is it cost less than $3 and took all of 30 min. to do.
