Default Leaky frort differential

After Sat. ride(70 miles) I was cleaning it up and checking everything over when I noticed oil on the skid plate. Found out it is gear oil. Can't tell where it's comming from, but it looks like it's comming from where 4wd actuator bolts to differential. Anyone else have leaking front difs. Bike has about 220 miles on it.

hey Fizzo ON my 02 500i did the same thing SO this is what i did. 1 REmoved plastic side covers from front diff. 2 Drain and fill front Diff. 3 Cleaned all oil off . 4 took it out for a 20 mile spin up/down hills high/low range. I also did high speed on fire roads. 5 checked it when got home no leak. I never could find/get it to leak again.( put 600 more on it since). IF you find IT let me Know.
PS. IF you would like to come up north (Prescott area) for a ride let me know.

Yea

when the leak came from the rear it was the axel.

when the leak came from the front it was dirt and debris caught up in the seal.

also be sure it is not comming from the vent tube, sometimes those are not on tight enough, and as pressure is built up in the diff, oil will leak out
