I've got a 09 500ho I noticed the cv joint where it meets the differential is very loose anyone know how hard of a job this will be? What all parts might be needed?

Kinda of hard to understand? Joint itself is worn, sloppy against the diff? Or just shaft loose going into the diff? If so the drive shaft splines or circlip holding the shaft may be worn that goes into the diff. They all have a little play over the years, but if excessive you may want to pull the shaft and check. It's not the joint it's the bearing or bearings that are inside the differential. Where the splines of the cv joint Meet the splines of the differential

If that's the case the transmission would have to be taken apart.Never had a problem with these bearings failing but could happen. Wrong fluid used, infrequent changes, faulty heat treatment of one or both bearings if they are making noise.Item#1.Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Polaris, Suzuki & Kawasaki OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-Polaris-Rear-Housing-Ball-Bearing-6010-C3-50x80x16mm-Sportsman-Magnum-Ranger-/351287173506?hash=item51ca58e182&vxp=mtrPlus bearing dimensions/oem part # can be cross referenced to a cheaper bearing than oem. http://www.hyperparts.com/wc.dll?ctw...ef~1001~1002~1 Plus the plunging joint large bearings can make noise also when the joint channels are worn.Plus like I mentioned a common problem on these as far as becoming loose over time.

OPT saved me a lot of money when i rebuilt my TB325 tranny(rip)..you might get lucky and have a local bearing dealer, i saved a bunch, didnt have to wait for shipping and the bearings were actually high rpm electric motor bearings which are most likely way better seeing that they were made for high rpm
