$69 winch for $185.00???
The way it was explained to e is that one had to pay full suggested retail price to get the winch for a true $69.00
my local dealer told me it would be cheaper to buy the machine at his price then buy the winch from him. which is true if you compare MSRP to what they really sell for.

$69 winch for $185.00???
I feel like I'm late to the party here, but I got our AC's back when they were offering the 3.9% financing. I didn't even ask about the $69 winch. I figured I could install one later on.
Well, "later on" finally came and I got a Ramsey 2500 wireless from eBay for (I think) $285. Installing turned into a bigger project than I had anticipated. On another forum I saw a string talking about how much it cost to have one installed and the prices ranged from $60 to over $200. By the time I got mine fully installed (two days of LEISURELY work), I'd have paid someone $60 in a HEARTBEAT. I was cramped working in my garage (waaaay too cold outside!), and having never seen a winch installed on a real live ATV, I could only go on what I'd seen in magazines and on TV. No help there. But I finally got it together and working. Don't know if I got all the 'stuff' put in the accepted proper places, but it nevertheless works. We'll see how GOOD it works out in the field this spring.
I see just about every brand dealer offering these winches for $69 at time of purchase. I wonder if they all try to 'recoup' their money in the same way. I guess it really pays to read all the small print...

$69 winch for $185.00???
I am late here too, but a winch needs to be stardard on the utility AC ATV's. Other then the cost, even that is really cheap, I can't think of a single reason you wouldn't want one. I am with you MrTommy, they are a bugger to install (for me). I have a great dealer and I know they will do it right. Saves me a lot of trouble.

$69 winch for $185.00???
Thanks for the vote of confidence, Catterman. When I was a teenager and into my early 20's I LOVED working on my car. Mechanical things were what a great weekend was made of. Now that I'm in my late 50's, I give less than a damn about doing mechanical stuff. This winch was a real project. If it weren't for my obviously second best wife in the world (since you have the BEST one - ha), I never would have gotten through the ordeal. We're a great team, whether it's mechanical projects or house repair projects. She supplies the patience I just plain don't have.
Anyway, I'll repeat what I said in my previous post. If you can get a winch installed for $60, RUN, don't walk, to that place and have it done (and send me the address so I can take my wife's kittie there and have HER winch installed - ha!).
By the way, it's nice to read about someone else who thinks his wife is GREAT. Keep on keepin' on.
