Default Arctic Cat Line of helmets..

For my snowmobile I have an Arctic Cat helmet I got in 1995. Looks brand new, even the plastic is clear and doesnt' scratch easy. I know nothing about the ATV helmets though...

Dont buy one. HJC has helmets for the same price with better protection. HJC also has better venting in their helmets. The Arctic Cat helmets get hot in the summer because of the lack of venting. I say this when it is compaired to an HJC helmet. I have both and my Arctic Cat helmet sits on the shelf and is sometimes used when I have a guest rider. Arctic Cat makes great helmets for winter use besause it is cold in the winter and you dont need as much venting. The HJC clx4 is a good ATV helmt.

Bottom line is any helmet is better than no helmet at all.

Good luck.

AC650, funny you should mention the HJC helmets. I ended up buying an HJC CL-X4 Fuel this weekend and it was about $60 cheaper than the AC helmet. It also is snell and dot certified.

I also have both a AC helment and a Thor helmet. The AC seems to be heavier and doesn't breath as well. The work great for winter, but would never use it in the summer.

For summer riding, a helmet that breathes and is light weight is worth it weight in gold. Another nice option is a removable liner.

dont' buy arctic cat helmets. i made that mistake for the last time. i only have experience with snowmobile helmets but they are heavy, expensive, and have the worst ventilation of any helmet. hjc makes good stuff, give them a little bit and they usually have a helmet to match any machine, sometimes even better then the cat helmets. plus another thing is my new helmet already is chipping like crazy, granted it has been dropped a few times but i mean chipping REALLY bad. not worth what you pay for them.
