I traded in my 01 ZX-12R Ninja on an 04 Arctic Cat 4x4 500 auto. I have browsed these forums for a few days and have really enjoyed them FWIW. I know the AC 500 will never be a ZX-12 but my Cat needs more power and I know there are several items avail now. So what I need is part numbers and opinions on the following items.

Full exhaust (is there any full exhaust for my Cat? I cant find any part numbers other than for a slip on) HMF,Big Gun ???any others??

Dyno Jet Kit ( I think I got this covered but feel free to comment)

Air Filter ( I think I have this covered too but feel free)

Clutch Kit ( Need help on this for sure)

This Cat. stays at my parents farm and is mostly used by them to haul 1200lb round bales, drag dead cows and pull and 16ft low boy around the place. But when I ride it I mostly just ripp up :-) Mud, climbing, ride wheelies ( can be trickey ) and ofcourse top it out every chance I can. Brand new it actually would hit 63mph (on spedo) on pavement with the wind but now after a valve adjust. it only tops at about 58mph so its time to mod it. Im sure the air filter is clogged right now so that might be hindering it a bit. I know its not a racer but faster is better IMO so I need more power. From what I've read its possible to bolt on the above mods. and get 10 to 12rwhp??? Is that right?? Look foward to hearing a response.

Black Magic makes the only full exhaust system for the 500. Its an awesome pipe if you don't mind a little more noise. I had an '03 500i which I put a Black Magic pipe, K&N, Dyno-Jet kit, and pre-filter and it was like going from a Pinto to a Mustang! As for a clutch kit check www.highlifter.com

www.blackmagicracing.com e-mail them as they don't have the ATV products on their site.

hope this helps!

Thanks for the quick response. I emailed them already and am looking foward to hearing from them.
How big of a difference was it to go from a modded 500 to a stock 650?? I will be getting another Cat. in the near future and it will probably be the 650. Thanks again!!

500 to a 650.... I would call the difference, Night and Day. 650's are very fast.

I'm also hopping up my 03 500. I have the dynojet kit (that was a long wait) and K&N in my garage, now waiting on FMF's slip on for it. I don't think they are producing it yet, they say "this summer". I've emailed blackmagic, just waiting on their reply and can't find HMF's system online. I was going to fab up my own using a Yosh....but that got more involved than I wanted.

I have test ridden an AC650LE and I loved the size and power of the machine. However, I completely agree that, until I see it in a manual transmission, I will be just wishin.

For what I use an ATV for and where I use it I cannot afford to be going into "limp mode" or having a darn belt slip. My TRV is an Auto but my wife doesn't let me ride it much and I would not do with it what I have done with my 400.

So am waiting for a "really big bore" machine with a manual transmission.
