Trapper,
The mod to the clutch is directly from AC and it has all the instructions for the dealer to do this. They also have jetting charts for different altitudes so you will be able to set your carb to their specs. Trust me the jetting will help if you are above sea level or in warm temps.

Thanks for the tips, Gunder.

So far, no misses or pops or bangs. I've gotten 67 miles off a tank of gas, but that was hustling along at around 20-25 mph. It hasn't felt sick yet. I've toyed with the idea of getting them "dyno'd" but haven't as of yet. I'll be on vacation next week and there's a good chance we'll be getting up to 9,000+ feet. I'll see what happens up there.

What's this about a tranny/belt mod? You ARE talking about the automatic, right?

With about 400 miles on them, we've seen about 48-49 mph (per GPS, not the WAY off speedo...).

We're not complaining about them yet. Speed is fine, and as I mentioned, no misses, no sputtering, no apparent loss of power, and pretty good gas mileage.

I'll be gone all next week, so don't get miffed if I don't reply right away. We'll be out ATV'ing ALL WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 'Cept for cocktail hour.

i had a 2003 500i and well i got about 60 mph out of it but that was by the speedo and it was probably pretty close and well after you get it broke in it will gain a lil bit of speed well the dealership i bought it from said that i probably got a fast one implying that maybe some are a couple miles an hour faster then others supposed depends upon how tight and how much drag there is

Hey Freetrapper,

I really like the shots of the window mod on the back of your truck. You can also adjust headlights, polish new brush guard (which looks way cool, by the way), and use the winch hook (which you'll eventually install) to help secure cargo IN the truck, all while driving down the road.

Thanks for letting us get a chuckle at your expense.

In general:

We just got back from a week long vacation in beautiful downtown Mina, NV. We took the Cats up to 9100 feet and they worked fine. The only problem came up when the road got REALLY steep and we had to put them in 4WD Low to keep going. MY cat, while still in Hi, just slowly came to a halt. Once I shifted to 4WD Low, we 'powered' on up. I guess the fact that I outweigh my wife by almost 100 pounds may play a part in this...

I'll try to post a picture or two in the Gallery from this latest vacation.

Thanks for the support,
It was a moment of stupidity on my part but made for a few laughs later. It was dang exspensive to fix, I could of bought that winch I've been wanting.
