Default 500 Auto shift adjustiment??

I have a four week old 500 auto and occasionally when I shift from low to high (after stopping) the transmission will click gears as if not all the way in gear. If I move the shift lever slightly toward low then place it back to high everything is OK. I believe the linkage requires a bit of adjustment. Is this something I can do? If so please advise.

Thanks

Your idle speed is to high, try adjusting your idle down a bit. Mine did the same thing.

Mine did the same thing too when it was new. I now have just over 200 miles on it and that is no longer a problem, it went away. If you have less then 150 miles or so I would just give it some time to break in.

Default 500 Auto shift adjustment???

My new AC 500 Auto is less than a month old as well. I have about 100 miles on it and I have the exact same problem. It has happend a few times and one time I could not get it to go into any gear so I shut it off and kind of rolled it back and forth a little and then started it and tried again. All went fine for the rest of the day.

Im taking these guys advice and giving it a bit before I complain to my dealer.

Good Luck and post a few picks of your new cat.

It too happened with mine when new. Follow the suggestion of turning down your idle. Adjusting your linkage will only cause other problems.

Default 500 Auto shift adjustment???

Thanks to all who responded to my question. I've been lurking on this site for several months and just recently bought my own Lime Cat. I knew if I had any problems I could count on this group for a straight answer. I have located the "very handy" idle adjustment **** and will back off on the idle just a bit and see if this helps. Oh, Myself and two buddies are heading to Gilbert, WV. this Saturday for five days on the Hatfield Mccoy trails. I will post some pictures of our trip.

Thanks
