2005 500 Pricing
#1
Does anyone have an idea of what the pricing for a new 2005 500 should be. The model I'm looking at is the manual, not an automatic, without the MRP racks.
Any help would be appreciated.

MSRP on a 2005 500 w/ man trans. is $6599. There is no more std. or Mrp racks option. All 2005s now have a new designed racks with the MRP receivers welded right under the rack. There are no pieces to take off. If you want to mount something all you have to do is plug it on and go. If you do not use MRP accessories you will never know the mounts are there. The 500 has a new improved body design and they also added the front diff. lock. 500 man. are first available in Aug. If you have one ordered or purchased from dealer your dealer can call factory and get one as soon as they are built.
Good luck

Thanks catrep, I really appreciate the help. You're the 1st person so far that has been able to give me definate answers.
I don't have one ordered yet, so we'll see when one of the dealers around me get one in. I've heard anywhere from some are already in, to "we won't have them 'till after September."
Thanks for your help,
Chase

Oh, and I sat on one in person. So far, I've only found 1 dealer that had the 05's in stock. Most others are saying a month or so before they get them. It all depends on which dealers went to the show and ordered them, or so I'm told.

That is a really good price. If you sat on one I can't argue with that. The shipping info said first available in Aug. Make sure it is an 05, it is pretty easy to tell because of new body style. I also had forgot to mention they come with 2 years of warranty. Your dealer should have told you. The best part is a product with more features then comp and they are MADE IN THE USA.

catrep, I really think dealer info is scetchy at best. My belief is any 05 that has an old body style (04) is more readily available than the newer 05 body styles.
For example, the dealer where I bought my 04 500 (and soon to be totalled) has an 05 TRV sitting on the floor, but he says he cant get an 05 500 or 650 till august or so. Also, other dealers claimed they had 05 400's and such. I finally found a dealer that had the 05 500's and he was 5 miles from my house. =) My first impression was the bike looks wider, but from the brocures, it's not. I think thats because the front of the 05 fenders extend to the outside of the wheel, the 04 does not, it's only on the back side of the wheel where the fender flairs are added.
Anyways, since my bike was totalled, I could get an 05 500 or an 04 650 for the same OTD cost. I'm going with the 04 650.. Now to cross the t's and dot the I's with my insurance company. =)
