I use my 300 to drop my watercraft in the lake.I keep getting water in the crank case.Air box is dry and tight. No holes in any breather lines.I just remounted the crankcase breather to a new location under the seat. There are no oil leaks and everything seems fine. the machine has 800 miles on it.Are these noted for this??any suggestions?

Mrmom, Is all the oil changing color or do you just have froth around the top of the fill hole and anywhere high in the engine. I've seen certain brands of oil be more prone to pulling moisture out of the air. Penz oil used to be famous for it, reason I quit using it.

Believe it not I have been buying the 10w40 Walmart "tech "oil.I have so much equipt it save me quite a bit of money. The stuff is SG rated so it is Ok for transmissions.
I sold a 92 s-10 w/2.8 liter v-6 200,000 miles( trailer towed)....it ran perfect and consumed no oil...had no sludge in the valve covers.Used Walmart oil and filter every 3000 miles.I question the need to buy the $$$$$$$$oils in most circumstances.

Mrmom; I like your handle by the way. I was self employed for about 15 years and was home alot and the wife worked 24 or 48 hour shifts (she's a Paramedic) so I did alot of child raising and house stuff myself. Of course the baby is 19 and in college now so all I look after is me, if I can remind myself to. Anyway, at one time I knew the name of the oil company that makes Wally's oil, of course I'm struck with CRS now. I do remember that NAPA's oil is made by the oil outfit that sponsored Kyle Petty for years; can remember their name either. Anyway all store brands are not bad, in fact some are very good.
