IN the manual that came with my 2003 400, it states to drive in High unless towing. Arctic cat should warrary the belts unless they change the manual and sent everyone and updated manual (or page).

Well I can't help but say just give me a manual shift and be done with it. Not to say that from time to time a manual doesn't have it's problems but not like this. I hope AC adds a manual shift to their top quad by the time I am ready to buy.

I cant believe you guys make this so hard for yourselves.
Look on the side of the belt cover, it says Kawasaki. This is exactly why Arctic Cat will start make engines for themselves.
Blame Kawi, their the ones that built the engine and clutches. Arctic Cat will fix their problem and make the customer happy. It just takes time.
Weez440, I can tell you are used to adjusting and tweeking snowmobile clutches. I too would be suprised at the comment that any aftermarket parts would void warrenty. My guess for this would be this letter is just the first step. The second step may be a simple fix but if you have a bunch of people fiddling with stuff they really dont know anything about that simple fix has become hard and costly. Thats why they're saying "stay out of there and we'll fix it"
Whinning and complaining on this forum or giving your dealer the business will not get you anywhere. You need to politly and productively write a letter to Arctic Cat Customer Service and send a copy to your dealer. I do belive you will see results and faster than you would belive.
Andy B, you need to find a new hobby. Your negitive comments are childish and not welcome.

I see most, if not all, of you guys are running bigger, heavier tires than what came on the bike. My buddy has this very same bike with the stock tires on it, and has never had a problem. There's no reason to run high range unless you're flying, not when you can get 50 mph out of low range. I can't see your point when you're running bigger tires, AC assumes you're running the bike as it left the showroom. It's not like you're putting a rod through the block either, try unmodifying the bike and see if you get the same result.

Heyyou, your missing Bluethumbs point.
Are the mods you have done assisting the cause of your problems? Undoing them could help find the answer.
Bluethumb has modded his machine and so have I but were not the ones having problems. If I was having problems and the mods were the cause there is no way I would expect the manufacture to fix them.
No OEM in this country will back thier product if it has been altered from its original specifications.

I hang with a fella with a 650 prairie,he has 27" 589s and he has done nothing to help his clutches.Go over to the kawi forum and look around, they mod their bikes to the extreme!Kawi gave us this engine but they are not having the trouble we are,NO LIMP MODE is one thing.A/C gave us troubles that kawi does not have, period.I have the same size tires that came on my bike, they weigh more yes,and my module was just put on,all my limp modes were before that.Thats it for mods on my bike.

The only problem I have with a/c over the belt is that they never look at it,that is where a/c and kawi differ.Kawi checks it and adjusts after ten hours,a/c don't touch it,ever. At least thats what the dealers in my area tell me.My belt slipped a little from day one, called a/c about it and thats what they told me,so I got a shop manual and got some info on here and now my belt does not slip, never added any mods just took out a shim.
My problem is the limp mode, kawi does not have the problem that a/c does, the tranny is the same, the engine is the same, but they don't go into limp mode on every ride.Sounds like an arctic cat problem to me.Are you helping me by cussing and telling me to go somewhere else bluethumb, thats garbage.
