Default Brand New AC 650

This is my first time posting on the message board, but I have been reading for a while. I just purchased a 2004 AC 650 - Red with MRP and a 2500 Warn Winch. I payed $6870.00 OTD including the winch, but I am installing it myself, I'm not paying the dealer $125.00 to do it. I was wondering if you guys think I got a good deal or got screwed, and would like any tips on what to do with the brand new wheeler when I get it home.

P.S. I got the last Red one with MRP racks in my area. Every dealer said the racks can't be put on, they have to come from the factory that way. Are they full of it?

The Dealer IS Full of it.
Its not cheap but I did put a rear only "MRP" rack on my LE 650 & too top it off, I even color matched the MRP rear rack to match the Lime Green front standard rack. I have even painted my MRP attachments to the Lime Green color. I ended up buying a new rear MRP Rack from Alpha-sports for $300 including everything that the MRP rack consist of, the paint I used is the "Kawasaki Green 1988-2002 epoxy" Lime Green, perfect color match, cheap at $7 per can compared what I paid for the MRP rack.
The MRP Rack design is great & very useful, so useful that when I sell this Cat 650, I will be selling it w/o the MRP rear rack, put the stock rear rack back on & modifly the MRP rack to my next 4wheeler, which I am sorry to say, will not be another Cat.
You guys with the Standard 650 in Lime Green can also paint your silver racks to the Lime Green, just to be different, that is if you really like that "Lime Green" treatment.
Congrads on your New Cat 650, a fine machine, not perfect but what is these days.
Sounds like a decent price on your MRP650 w/winch.

Iwas thinking of K&N Air Filter, maybe exhaust, aluminum skid plate(maybe I could just make one myself), powermadd handgaurds, brushgaurd(not the one from arctic cat) and anything else that may tickle my fancy!!!

I have a question about my warn 2500 winch. I installed it last night and it works, but I was wondering where the orange wire is supposed to go(comes off of the rocker switch)? The book didn't say where to put it for the 650 twin, but the other models said to splice into the red and black wire going into the fuse box. Instead of that I just hooked it up the the positive on the battery. Is that ok to do??? I like the fact that it will run without my ignition having to be on, but I don't want to wreck anything. Thanks.

Without a doubt, first change I would make would be replace the tires. I chose Mudlites but any tire you use will be a huge improvement over the stock Goodyears !

i would have to go look at what wire i think it was the orange one but i hooked mine dirrectly to the lil fuse box it is down by your right leg when you are sitting on it can't miss it and well if anything is worth doing it is worth doing right and i don't know if they have a k&n filter for the 650 yet i know i will be on the bandwagon to buy one and if you are looking for a quick horsepower gain the highlifter icm powerpark gives good power and so does the dynatek cdi which also takes care of the limp mode problem i think i am gonna sell my highlifter powerpak cause it just sends a false signal to the cdi i believe and well i got a different cdi so it doesn't do a bit of good but if i could go with any tires i would go with the 26 inch mud lites i am thinking bout putting my stock tires on unless i am gonna deffinately go mud running for sure cause i do to much road driving and i cut the gas mileage and lost some pony's one thing that is really nice to have is the arctic cat rear bumper i put mine through abuse and it has held up great but gotta go to bed and i am just blabbing now
