Default Oversized tires safer?????

Ok, when i got my fourwheeler i put on my 27 inch tires immediately and put my stock ones away, they still have the nipples on them. Well for kicks and grins i put on my stock tires yesterday and to my suprise i couldn't stand driving my fourwheeler. My oversized tires and rims weight about twice as much as the stock ones, thus having more weight closer to the ground. second with the bigger tires it rode so much smoother it was just so forgiving i supposed more rubber on the ground floated over the bumps more, and also going around this curve i can usually go around it doing 50 mph with my big tires had my stock ones on there and i could feel bad body roll at 45 where it felt like it wanted to throw me right off the top. Another plus is for the braking purposes AC brakes have a tendency to kinda lock up and with the bigger tires it seems like it is the perfect match takes more brakes to stop the momentum. The minus side is i lost a lil bit of power not a whole lot and the fuel mileage i am sure is a lil worse but other then that I love my big tires. I just wanna see how everyone feels in this same category and what you have all found out. Thank You

The main difference is that it makes you wider. More offset on the aftermarket rim and a wider back tire.

....And stronger sidewalls, less wheel roll. On my last cat I put 10" wide 27" tall Dirt Devils all the way around (It had 2 ply CRAP on it from the factory). That extra width up front helped TONS when off camber and cornering. So yeah, I'd say new 6 ply tires are much safer.

Which makes me ask why doesn't all the manufacturers make there atv's stock with wider 6 ply tires????? I mean if the name of the game is safety and aftermarket tires clearly are why don't they come stock? plus they are alot better in the mud

Mostly because they are all trying to hit a final price point. Better tires might push a quad over the 4995 mark and that kind of thing.. Another reason is they are required to put a tire on that's fairly environmentally friendly. So they go with a midrange cheapie knowing the ones that care will replace them.

da heck with environmentally friendly thats why they have all this low emission stuff i want safety if ppl want to use there atv's for doing yard work and don't want to rut things up fine then make the 20 percent or so buy crappy tires and the 80 percentile get the good safe tires i guess it doesn't matter but i would have save a crap load of money
