I also took out the smaller of the 2 shims (not sure what size they were). The belt deflection was about 22mm which I think is in spec. Should I add a smaller shim in (smaller than the one I took out)? Or after a few miles will everything 'break in'? Tomorrow at work I can find out what size the shim was that I took out. I'm guessing it's the .06 one and the larger was .08.

how many miles you got on it? if you have less then 100 miles you may have gotten it a lil to tight and may need to put the small shim back in for about 100 miles to let the belt stretch out then take it out and then you can be clear sailing

i have heard of people talking how there belt squeals on idle but apparently it doesn't harm the belt or anything just a lil annoyity it probably will eventually loosen up and only 100 miles? come on you gotta get out and ride more i got 1100 miles on mine hoping to have over 2000 on by the end of september

well then you need to buy the kids each a wheeler and the wife one to lol must have lots of money if she works every other weekend, but anyways i wouldn't worry to much about it i figure when you got a new machine don't worry bout lil noises and stuff cause that is what warranty is for even though suprisingly mine hasn't been making any strange noises but you made a great choice the 650 is one of the top atv's on the market (don't wanna say top cause some polaris 700 or grizzley or prarie owner will come in here and then it will be one of the elementary school kids my dad is better then your dad arguements)
